FRC CMT Poles - The Centrifugally Cast Fiberglass Manufacturing Process

Layers of veil and structural glass are measured and wrapped around an aluminum mandrel for insertion into the mold. The mandrel is removed prior to spinning. 1
Materials are rotated in the mold, causing the materials to conform smoothly to the mold. 2
While the mold is rotated at 1300-1500 rpm, specially pigmented resins and a special catalyst are injected into the mold. This resin also contains UV inhibitors to prolong pole life. 3
After curing, handholes, cable entrance holes, mast arms, and other customizations are performed. 4
